Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana: Now farmers have only 15 days left to join PM Fasal Bima Yojana. You can join this scheme till July 24. At the same time, if Kisan Credit Card holders do not want to join this scheme, then they will also have to give written information to the bank by July 24. If you do not do this, then the bank will automatically deduct the premium of PM Bima crop insurance (PMFBY premium) from the amount of KCC loan and the farmer will suffer. The government has told all the bank officials that the farmer should be aware of the premium amount for whichever crop is being deducted directly from the bank account.
For a long time, farmers have been demanding that PM Fasal Bima Yojana should be made voluntary. The Modi government has made it voluntary from Kharif-2020. In fact, some farmers complained that the insurance companies do not listen to the loss and cheat the farmers, hence this demand was being made. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar claims that despite this scheme being voluntary, about 5.5 crore farmers join the scheme every year. Till December-2020, the farmers paid a premium of about 19 thousand crore rupees and as compensation, about 90 thousand crore rupees were paid to the farmers.
How much is the premium to be paid?
In PM Fasal Bima Yojana, the farmer pays only 1.5-2% of the insurance cost and the remaining amount is given by the central and state government together. That is, if you insure a total of 1 lakh rupees, then you will have to pay only 2 thousand rupees as premium. The objective of PM Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) is to compensate farmers for crop damage caused by floods, storms, hailstorms and heavy rains. In the Kharif season (July-September) of 2021, paddy, maize, bajra, cotton and in Rabi season wheat, barley, gram, mustard and sunflower crops can be insured. The last date to get crop insurance is July 31. PMFBY is voluntary for all farmers. If farmers who have taken loans from the government for farming do not want to join the crop insurance scheme, then they can get out of the crop insurance scheme (PMFBY) by making a written application to their banks by July 24.
How to take advantage of PMFBY?
You are required to fill the PMFBY form within 10 days of sowing the crop in the field. Even if your crop is damaged due to natural calamity between 14 days from harvesting to preparation, you can still take advantage of PM Fasal Bima Yojana. To secure their crop under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), farmers can take the form both offline and online. If you want to take the form offline, then you can fill the form of PM Fasal Bima Yojana by visiting your nearest bank branch. You can visit the PMFBY website (https://pmfby.gov.in/) to fill the online form.

If the farmer is not doing farming in his field, then he has to give a photocopy of the copy of the agreement signed with the farm owner. The account/khasra number of the farm should be clearly written in this paper. In case of crop damage, a canceled check is required to be deposited in your bank account.
What if the crop is damaged?
If you have got your crop insured under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and you want to claim for its compensation in case of damage to the crop, then the Government of India has also issued many helpline numbers for that. Along with this, email ID has also been issued to inform about crop loss under PMFBY.
