But neither is ready to make way for the other as both were too proud and stubborn. They come to the center of the bridge and begin fighting about who should cross first. During their mindless fight, the bridge breaks and both the goats fall into the river with it. Moral: It is better to yield than to come to misfortune through stubbornness. Being stubborn will not take you far and will make you suffer.

The fox then says to the donkey: “I knew it was you by your voice.” Moral: Fine clothes may disguise, but silly words disclose a fool.

6. The Three Little Pigs

It is a tale to illustrate the folly of pigs who do not listen to their mother and build unstable houses. It’s a story where you can add a lot of effects and have your little one enthralled by the suspense of the fate of the big bad wolf. Moral: This fable story teaches that the integrity and motivation of your actions go a long way. Doing a job well is as important as getting the job done in the first place.

7. The Crow and The Pitcher

It is a tale every one of us grew up with. It is a story of a crow and his thirst and his infallible attitude of never giving up. The crow uses his ingenuity and resourcefulness to solve his problem. He happily drinks the water and flies away. Moral: Little-by-little does the trick.

8. The Fox And Sour Grapes

On a hot summer day, a fox comes upon an orchard and sees a bunch of ripened grapes. It feels like quenching its thirst. It moves back a few paces, runs, and jumps but falls short of reaching the grapes. It tries in different ways to reach the bunch of grapes, but in vain finally gives up, and declares grapes to be sour anyway. His hunger remains unsatisfied. Moral: It is easy to despise what you cannot get your hands on. Try till you succeed. Also learn to accept your defeat and learn from failures.

9. Belling The Cat

A family of mice gathered one night to discuss the problems created by their common enemy, the cat. They fear that the cat will rule the house. A lot of ideas were shared, but none seemed good enough to beat the cat. Then a young mouse suggested that they should tie a bell around the cat’s neck to know when it is approaching and escape the sly cat’s attacks. To this, an old, wise mouse asked, “That’s fine. But who will bell the cat?” Moral: It is easy to propose impossible remedies. Talking about doing something might be good until the action has to be carried out.

10. Two Cats And A Monkey

This is the story of two cats who argue over a piece of cake. A monkey sees this opportunity of gain and offers to help by dividing the cake equally. After he breaks the cake in half, he shakes his head saying they are unequal. He takes a bite out of the bigger piece. He then takes a bite out of the other piece since it is now the bigger one. He continues doing so until all of the cake is gone. Moral: When you quarrel amongst yourselves, others gain from it.

11. The Lion And The Mouse

This is a story of a sleeping lion when a mouse started running all over him. But the lion spares the life of the mouse after it promises that it could be of help to the lion one day. Soon enough, the lion gets trapped in a net put up by poachers. The tiny mouse passing by sees the lion in distress and immediately chews away at the net and sets the lion free. Moral: Little friends may prove to be great friends. You never know who can become a great friend so be kind to everyone and they will be to you.

12. The Elephant And His Friends

Juno who was a lonely elephant tried to make friends with the other animals in the forest. But, the other animals refused to play with Juno because of his size. One day, all the animals were running away from Dera the tiger who was eating everyone who came his way. Juno went and gave Dera a swift kick who immediately ran away. Juno now became everyone’s friend. Moral: Your inherent abilities are your best qualities and the reason for your success.

13. The Foolish Lion

A hungry lion goes in search of prey. He finds a cave whose inhabitant has gone out. He decides to lay in wait for the unsuspecting animal. The owner of the cave, a jackal, however, suspects something wrong with the cave. The jackal asks the cave to reply to his calls. The foolish lion replies and the jackal escapes. Moral: In haste, we make foolish decisions. One should always be calm and think of all the options before action.

14. The Clever Monkey And The Crocodile

The story revolves around two friends, a monkey, and a crocodile. The monkey used to give the crocodile an apple every day from the tree he lived on. The crocodile’s greedy wife one day, asks for the monkey’s heart. The crocodile carries the monkey on its back to his wife. Once the monkey realizes what is happening, he fools the crocodile saying that his heart is on the tree and they must return to fetch it. After returning, the monkey climbs onto the bank and runs away. Moral: Staying calm and thinking clearly even in stressful situations helps you immensely
